The family-run Gasthof Tauernalm is located at 1,680 metres above sea level and offers direct views of the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain. Located directly at the Großglockner High Alpine Road 400 metres above Heiligenblut, Gasthof Tauernalm is a starting point for hiking tours in summer. In winter, this inn is located right by the Tauernberg T-bar lift, which takes you to the ski area. The traditional restaurant serves homemade delicacies and local specialities. From 15 May 2017 to 24 September 2017, the Kärnten Card is included in the rate. This card offers many free benefits and discounts all across Carinthia.

Please note that the property is located right next to the tollbooth Rossbach on the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Please note that the Großglockner High Alpine Road is closed during winter season. In summer, guests arriving by car or motorcycle receive a discount (car: EUR 4; motorbike: EUR 3) on the day ticket for the Großglockner High Alpine Road. Guests staying 2 nights or longer pay EUR 34 if they arrive by car and EUR 25 if they arrive by motorbike for their stay. Vouchers for the discounted tickets will be sent to you by e-mail at least 24 hours before arrival. You need to print out the voucher and exchange them at the toll station. Refunds or reimbursements are not possible.
